EO Ignite 2025: Podcast Series
The event lasted three days. The conversations were built to last.
Visit the EO Durban podcast hubThe problem was not what happened in the room. It was what disappeared when the room emptied.
EO Ignite brought 180 entrepreneurs together in Durban for three days of insight, vulnerability, learning and connection.
A recap video could preserve the atmosphere, but not the depth of the individual thinking shared by members, speakers and delegates. EO Durban needed a format that could preserve those voices, extend access beyond the people in the room and keep creating value after the final session.
Events end. Useful conversations do not have to.
Put the studio inside the experience.
The podcast studio was not treated as a backstage documentation unit. It became a visible, active part of EO Ignite, giving participants the chance to contribute to the event's collective story.
Instead of interviewing only keynote speakers or organisers, the format was opened to members and attendees with different experiences, perspectives and preferred ways of speaking.
Step In. Speak Out. Spark Change.
One studio. Three ways to contribute.
Take part in an interview and share the experiences, lessons and ideas behind the entrepreneurial journey.
Invite another Ignite attendee into the studio and lead a peer-to-peer discussion.
Deliver a focused reflection, lesson or point of view directly to the audience.
Six hours. 13.5 square metres. One working podcast studio.
The full studio was built inside a 2.7 m by 5 m hotel room in six hours. Video and audio were captured in a single pass, so every recording could be published in both formats.
The achievement is not the equipment. It is the integration of a working content environment into a live event without disrupting the programme running around it.
The recording ended. The content journey began.
Eight steps carried a live moment from the room to a permanent place in EO Durban's owned media.
Build the studio into the Ignite programme and event experience.
Identify participants and let them pick the format that suits them.
Capture candid conversations during the live event.
Video and audio editing, sound clean-up and visual formatting.
Titles, descriptions, episode artwork and platform-ready assets.
Release video and audio episodes through EO Durban-owned channels.
Social publishing, guest sharing and member communication.
A searchable, shareable and reusable library of entrepreneurial insight.
One event. A multi-platform content library.
Long-form video and audio live on the EO Durban podcast hub, YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Podbean, Amazon Music and iHeartRadio. Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok carried promotion and short-form clips.
Reporting period 20 August 2025 to 30 June 2026. Each channel is measured in its own native tool and figures are reported as they appear at source.
The people in the room became the voices beyond it.
Participants did not deliver brand messages. They used the studio to work through imposter syndrome, near failure, health, belonging and what they intended to carry home.
Zafir Kurji called Ignite a mirror and spoke openly about confronting imposter syndrome in a family business. Louisa Garland described the season in 2018 that almost closed a company built to protect lives. Nox Magwaza left the studio with a message for other founders: you are a seed, keep blooming.
Several guests closed their own episodes by recommending the next Ignite, unprompted, inside content EO Durban owns and can publish again. That is the podcast doing the job of event marketing.
